Hi,

I am Mollie, and I own Sweetpea Reflexology.

Sweetpea Reflexology came into existence as a result of my own experiences of reflexology. I had for many years been part of a very stressful profession, which led me to try reflexology for stress relief. I was astounded at the results and the impact it had on my own health and wellbeing. I needed to know more!

After some research I decided to train as a reflexologist and I undertook a Level 4 Reflexologist Practitioner Diploma with the Sheila Nugent School of Reflexology, which I passed with distinction. This allowed me to practice as a reflexologist - a complete career change! I then joined the Federation of Holistic Therapists, took out insurance and found premises - all very exciting.

I opened Sweetpea Reflexology in Bangor, Co. Down providing reflexology treatments to clients from Bangor and the surrounding areas.

I then decided to further my education in reflexology by undertaking continued professional development courses in areas which were of interest to me. These included reflexology for babies and children and undertaking baby reflexology instructor training with Catriona Plunkett of Golden Egg Holistic.

As a new grandmother baby reflexology was of specific interest to me as I knew that it can really help with colic, teething and many other ailments that young babies suffer from. I found it so interesting and inspiring that I decided to become qualified to teach it to parents to use on their own babies.

Facial reflexology was another area of interest for me. Firstly because some people do not like their feet touched, so having an alternative method of giving clients the benefits of a reflexology treatment seemed like a good idea. Secondly because I became aware of the added aesthetic benefits for the face, in addition to the normal benefits of reflexology. I have trained with the great Ziggie Bergman of London School of Reflexology in both facial reflexology and advanced facial reflexology. I have also trained with her in her famous Zone Face Lift and am a fully qualified practitioner in Zone Face Lift and Advanced Facial Reflexology. The benefits of facial reflexology are amazing and Zone Face Lift has been compared to a non surgical face lift! I have also completed training and qualification with Ziggie in Indian Head Massage.

I have also completed training with Butterfly Touch Therapies and am now a certified oncology complementary therapist in reflexology. I undertook this training as I have a number of clients who have been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to support them to my fullest capability throughout their journey. Reflexology can have a number of benefits for those who have received such a diagnosis, not least the treatment room being a safe space to relax and acknowledge their feelings without feeling the need to be brave for their families. In addition reflexology can reduce the stress they may be feeling and help with the side effects from treatments. Reflexology is not a replacement for medical advice and treatment in such circumstances. Clients should check with their primary care team that they are happy for them to have reflexology at that time in their treatment plan.

I will continue to add other areas of interest to my reflexology practice as it develops.
